Hello, my name is Rebecka!

As a Trauma Yoga Therapist, I offer a holistic approach to healing and recovery for individuals who have experienced trauma. Through the practice of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, I help my clients to release tension, reduce anxiety, and cultivate a sense of inner peace. In my role as an educator and parenting coach, I work with birth parents to develop the skills and tools they need to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. Through one-on-one sessions and practical exercises, I empower parents to build strong, healthy relationships with their children and create a brighter future for their families.

My Story

My practice is dedicated to helping trauma survivors heal and transform their lives. As someone who personally experienced childhood trauma, I understand the importance of finding the right techniques to help you overcome post-traumatic stress. That's why I offer personalized yoga sessions, that are gentle, therapeutic, and tailored to your individual needs. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, I'm here to support you on your healing journey. Let's work together to find peace, healing, and laughter along the way.

Trauma Yoga Therapist Vs Counselor

A trauma yoga therapist specializes in using yoga practices to address the unique needs of trauma survivors. Their approach is trauma-informed, meaning they assume that all students have experienced some form of trauma and teach in a way that promotes healing rather than triggering trauma1.

Role:

They receive specific training to understand trauma and its impact on the mind and body.

Their focus is on creating a safe space for healing through yoga practices.

Skills and Approach:

Trauma yoga therapists are conscious of trauma triggers and avoid poses that might be harmful or triggering.

They emphasize self-regulation strategies, body awareness, and safety.

Their goal is to help trauma survivors find healing and build a sense of safety.

Counselor

Counselors typically address more immediate and specific concerns.

They work with clients dealing with various issues, including stress, relationship problems, and life transitions.

Role:
Counselors have training in psychology, counseling, or related fields.
They provide talk therapy (counseling) to help clients explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
Their focus is on supporting clients in coping with challenges and improving well-being.
